Top Five Tuesday – Books I predict will be 5 star reads!

Yay, this is the first time I’m participating in Top Five Tuesday, a book meme hosted by @BionicBookWormBlog and this week’s topic is books I predict will be 5 star reads! I picked books that I’ve been dying to read but just haven’t gotten around to yet (or am saving for after I’m done with my class this year, or for my summer holiday) so they’re not all new releases. Some are though! Some still aren’t even out yet, so it’s a good mix of books. Let’s get into it!

  1. This Adventure Ends by Emma Mills.

I saw this book recommended on another book blogger’s blog and it sounded so great, I decided to download the Amazon sample to my kindle, and man, I fell in love. I’ve never read anything by this author, but Emma Mills had me at “Shakespearian chorus”. Now I’m really, very excited to read the rest of the book, but I’m saving it for when I’ve handed in my last assignment, as a reward. It’s about a girl, Sloane, who moves from New York to Florida, and falls in love with a group of friends. Just by the premise and the first few pages I predict that this is a perfect book for me.
  2. Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
    Goodreads | Order here*
I might be one of the last people who still have to read this book. I’ve seen it around on the internet for a while now but for some reason I never thought, oh I totally should read that. But now that there’s going to be a movie and I see more and more people talk about it, I felt like I had to check it out. So I downloaded the sample from Amazon on my kindle and man, I’m already in love. I hope to read it soon, at least before the movie is releases in the Netherlands (June 12th!)
  3. Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
    Goodreads | Pre-order here *
Uprooted is now one of my favorite books and I can’t wait for Spinning Silver! If I’m correct it should be a bit like Uprooted, in the sense that it is based on fairytales and has a cool female hero. Very, very excited!
  4. The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
    Goodreads | Order here*
This book has been out for a few months now, but I still haven’t read it, despite absolutely having fallen in love with The Bear and the Nightingale (read my review here). I just haven’t gotten around to it yet but also.. I’m waiting for the paperback that matches my paperback of TBatN, which comes out in August. Yes, I’m that kind of person. Also I’m just kind of savoring it, because I’m sure I’ll love it.
  5. Only Love Can Break Your Heart by Katherine Webber
    Goodreads | Pre-order Here*
I really liked Webber’s debute novel, Wing Jones (read my review here) and I’m sure her next book will just be as awesome 🙂

Are you excited about any of these books? Have you read them yet? Please tell me about them in the comments! (But no spoilers please 😛 )

  1. The Girl in the Tower is one I really need to pick up ASAP! I think it’s going to be 5 Stars for sure!
Btw – I just happened to stumble upon your post. I didn’t get a notification. So if you want me to link you to the participants list, please click on any one of my posts and link that address and NOT the main address. For some reason, wordpress only notifies if a specific post is linked. But I will try to keep an eye out in the future. And WELCOME! 🙂❤️

  2. Simon vs. is EVERYTHING. And Leah on the Offbeat is EVEN MORE. Seriously, I love those books. I can’t imagine we have to wait so long for the movie. I think in Belgium it’s the premiere on May 20th? But then it’s still a wait until June 20th until they’re actually in theaters. I hate it. Trying to go in May but since it’s a Sunday and I have work the day after it’s all a mess, haha.
